Museums & Galleries

COMING SOON

A Platform for Collaboration and Sustainable Growth.

Our goal is to facilitate sustainable growth in the sector, whilst reducing costs. We aim to do this by creating a platform for collaboration, sharing knowledge and insight, and using this to build the tools and resources Museums & Galleries need to make growth happen.

Why Collaborate?

The digital world moves too fast to go it alone.

By pooling resources, knowledge, and expertise, museums and galleries can enhance their impact, reach wider audiences, and remain relevant, engaged, and innovative in the constantly evolving realms of culture and technology.

Museums & Galleries

Resources for Museums & Galleries.

If you work for a museum or gallery, you are at the heart of everything we do. In a nutshell, we want to reduce the time it takes to plan and execute promotions, we want to help you get better results, time after time. And we want to save your organisation money.

Some of the benefits for Museums & Galleries

  • Invest in new innovative ideas, technology, experiments without the risk.
  • Make the most of existing, emerging, even closed funding opportunities.
  • Quickly generate and implement content, images and ideas and campaigns.
  • Find out what's new, what's working (and what's not) without going it alone.
Funders

Helping funders achieve more together.

Collaboration between funding organisations can lead to smarter resource allocation and decisions, as they become more informed about each other’s activities. Sharing knowledge and experiences about past projects, ongoing initiatives, and future plans can help funders identify and optimise their respective roles in supporting the sector.

Some of the benefits for individuals.

  • Identify opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Gain new insights, perspectives, and skills that enhance your own work.
  • Build connections and relationships within the sector, which can lead to new opportunities.
  • Share ideas, explore new approaches, and work towards a common goal.

How it works

Here’s a quick overview of the collaborative approach and the steps involved. Our team, partners, and hub members work together throughout the process to maximise the success of each collaboration. The platform provides easy-to-use communication tools to keep everyone informed throughout.

  • Contextual feedback
Leave and receive feedback directly on tools, projects, campaigns and content.
  • Collaborative by design
Easily share the current state of projects for collaboration, feedback or buy-in.
  • Change notifications
Get updates when changes are made to content, tools, resources and projects you follow.

Create a project

Projects can include anything from a ground breaking app, collaboration around nationwide cause or call for funding to a single tool, technology integration, marketing resource or workshop.
1

Generate interest

Tell Hub members about your project, its goals and your requirements, answer question, request feedback and encourage them to engage, collaborate and back your project.

2

Engage partners

To keep costs down and avoid duplication, before creating something from scratch we engage with partners to see if there are solutions, resources, tools etc already available (or underway) that can be used or adapted to deliver the project goal.

3

Build & Create

If a project requires tools, resources, assets etc that don’t already exist, the hub team of designers, developers, content creators and strategists are available to work with the project owner, partners and hub members to make it happen.

4

Measure & Test

To ensure that every project delivers achieves it goal, delivers results and has the largest impact on growth for as many hub members as possible, we’ll measure the impact of each tool, assets or resources (new or established) and make the insights available to hub members.

5

Iterate & IMPROVE

Using Insights and member feedback every aspect of this hub should evolve and improve over time to provide a maximum ROI for all members. This includes tools, resources, content and the hub itself.

6

OUR INSPIRATION

Here are just a few of the drivers leading to this project.

The sector contains a lot of digital knowledge, but often that knowledge isn’t shared.
Participants stressed the importance of networking and sharing expertise and there is scope for funders to support this, perhaps through peer mentoring. More ambitiously, there is also scope for organisations to share specialist roles, with a digital expert working part-time for a group of museums.
Many of the smaller organisations that participated would welcome opportunities for joint working and shared resources.
Lack of strategy is the biggest barrier to digital effectiveness
Sector funders and support organisations should come together to discuss how they can better help organisations through funding and other channels to connect with each other, coordinate to develop networks, mentoring and partnerships to support museums in learning, setting digital strategy and implementing digital systems.
